We opened two bottles of wine this week, one higher end and one lower cost.
The high end wine was:
Archery Summit 2003 Pinot Noir Premier Cuvee
This week I was shopping at New Seasons (the new one by my house!) and checked out their wine section. They had a sale on Snoqualmie Vineyards Cabernet Merlot, which we often buy when we eat at Red Lobster. I thought it would be good to have some table wine on hand. So I picked up some bottles (for a lot less than we pay at Red Lobster – oh well restaurants charge a mark up.)
Snoqualmie Vineyards 2001 Cabernet Merlot
It was about $7 on sale. It is a smooth wine. I would recommend letting it breath a little. The finish was a bit green when first opened, but mellowed after breathing. I really enjoy it with shellfish.
