Days of the Week

I was looking for some ideas to help teach Carl the days of the week. He has the months down already through a poem my mother reads him. I will have to enter that at a later date as the book is over at my mom’s house.

I found a number of songs and poems out there that help with the days of the week.

These are two I will use.

Monday’s Child
Mondays child is fair of face,
Tuesdays child is full of grace,
Wednesdays child is full of woe,
Thursdays child has far to go,
Fridays child is loving and giving,
Saturdays child works hard for his living,
And the child that is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.

Song – to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday too.
Wednesday, Thursday just for you.
Friday, Saturday that’s the end .
Now let’s say those days again!
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday!

I am amazed what is available out there in internetland. Here are some sites:

I had heard the first one – it\’s in one of Logan\’s nursery rhyme books, but not the second one.  It is amazing what you can find on the internet!!  Have a great Friday 🙂  ~Tanya
